Hamburg, 25.04.2008, Syncrosoft supports license transfer from Soft-eLicenser to USB-eLicenser, and back.
Syncrosoft, known for its highly secure eLicenser™ anti-piracy solution, today announces the general availability of the License Control software, version 5.4.
Key features of the Syncrosoft License Control software, version 5.4. are
- Transfer of Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser protected product licenses from the Soft- to the USB-eLicenser, and back*
- Download of Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser protected product licenses onto the USB-eLicenser directly
- Support of license upgrades for Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser protected product licenses
- Support of date limited Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser protected product licenses
* The transfer from the USB-eLicenser to the Soft-eLicenser is vendor specific and not supported by all vendors.

Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser™
The Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser is a pure software-based protection module and provides the same feature set as the Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser, but on a different security level. With this extension of its product portfolio, Syncrosoft supplies a solution for software vendors, who are in need for proven security against piracy on one hand, but on the other hand want to offer trial or OEM versions of their software products without the need for supplying USB protection keys to their customers.
Once protected with MCFACT, a software application can be released in its different flavors without giving up security on the protection side or loosing control over the different usage models for the software on the license management side. High value products stay fully protected with the Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser, while the Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser is the ideal choice for the license management of low-cost-, demo- or OEM-software products.
Compatible Solutions
The Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser is fully compatible with the Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser. Once the eLicenser implementation is done, Software vendors can specify whether their protected software exclusively requires a Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser, or runs with both Syncrosoft eLicenser types. Licenses, either securely stored on the USB-eLicenser or linked to the computer system where the Soft-eLicenser is installed, can be securely transferred between the two eLicenser types.
DRM and Online License Distribution
The Syncrosoft eLicenser comes with advanced DRM and license distribution services. A central license server, hosted by Syncrosoft, is used to authenticate license transactions.

Syncrosoft’s anti-piracy technology is deployed on hundred thousands of PCs. All USB-eLicenser protected software products running on the Windows platform remain uncracked since autumn 2005. On the Mac OS X platform, Syncrosoft protected software has never been cracked since the launch of the MCFACT technology in the year 2000.
