What is a Soft-eLicenser?
A Syncrosoft Soft-eLicenser is a virtual form of the Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser. It is usually installed on your computer during the installation procedure of protected software. The Soft-eLicenser is bound to your computer and has a unique serial number, just like a normal USB-eLicenser (2 x 10 digits).
How can I see the licenses stored inside?
The License Control Center tool allows you to view, manage, move and update your product licenses that are stored in Soft- and USB-eLicensers. After the Syncrosoft License Control Center has been installed you can find the application in the "Applications" folder on the system hard disk.
Where do I get the latest version of the License Control Center?
The License Control Center tool comes as part of the License Control software package, which includes the Syncrosoft DRM modules and USB-eLicenser drivers. The latest version is available at: www.syncrosoft.com/License_Control_Center-78-11.html
I have a PowerPC-based Apple computer. My Soft-eLicenser is declared as invalid.
This problem is solved by installing the Syncrosoft License Control package. Please download the latest License Control Center from License Control Center Download
Is it possible to transfer licenses from the Soft-eLicenser to a USB-eLicenser (and the other way around)?
Yes, starting from Syncrosoft License Control version 5.4.0.0, licenses can be transferred from a Soft-eLicenser to a USB-eLicenser. Transferring licenses from a USB-eLicenser to a Soft-eLicenser is also possible, however, some software vendors have restricted the transfer direction from Soft- to USB-eLicensers only. For instance, Steinberg licenses can be transferred from Soft- to USB-eLicensers only, starting from License Control version 5.4.6.0.
Can I activate a product on a computer without Internet connection?
A computer which is not connected to the internet cannot be used to activate a Soft-eLicenser protected product. Unlike the USB-eLicenser, whose licenses can be managed independently from the computer where the software products are installed on, it is not possible to create a Soft-eLicenser with licenses to use it on another computer afterwards. This is due to the fact that an Soft-eLicenser is bound to the hardware where it was created on.
Is it possible to utilize a Soft-eLicenser protected product on several computers?
No, this is not possible! The respective product can only be active on one computer at a time. If you need additional installations in parallel on other computers you need to purchase the required amount of program licenses for that.
