The Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser™ is the hardware part of Syncrosoft’s software anti-piracy and DRM technology. It is an universal crypto-processor programmable for many security applications.

Tamper-Proof Smart-Card
The eLicenser hardware comprises a tamper-proof smart-card with permanent memory and an integrated USB interface. This hardware design with all peripherals on-chip is the base for a secure and stable device implementation. LEDs on two sides of the device indicate the operation mode. The overall size of the device measures 52,6mm x 14mm x 8,3mm.

Smart-Card Operating System
An operating system specifically designed for security microprocessors runs inside the smart-card. It provides support for standard crypto-algorithms and executes encrypted programs that can implement arbitrary crypto-services.

Storage of Licenses and Encryption Keys
The tamper-proof memory of the smart-card serves as secure "wallet" for software and content licenses as well as a storage for encryption keys. At the time of Syncrosoft USB-eLicenser manufacturing, a unique hardware identification number is generated and stored in the smart-card’s memory.
